A sad accident occurred on the return of the Carleton Presbyterian church picnic train to this city last eve. When near the asylum annex, the fireman saw a man lying on the track. The driver, Joseph LOGAN, blew the whistle and put the brakes down instantly, but the train could not be stopped in time. The engine and forward trucks of a car had passed over the man, mangling him fearfully. His name was Robert HENDERSON, an inmate of the asylum. The body was left in charge of the caretaker at Sand Cove and a message sent to the coroner.
