Athol - Robert CHAPMAN was fatally injured on Monday afternoon in the saw mill of S.E. FREEMAN, Esq., Athol. Mr. Chapman had been edging deals with the large log saw, three deals being placed on each other and while he was adjusting parts of the machinery, one of the deals was caught on the saw and thrown over it with fearful force striking Mr. Chapman and flying out through the mill. Dr. Carritt was summoned from Amherst, but the man had received such internal injuries that he lived but little more than an hour. He was 30 years old and leaves a wife and a child. He was a son of George CHAPMAN of Leicester.
