The Boston 'Herald' of Friday contains an account of the marriage of Ida M. JAMES, a 15 year old girl living in St. John, to Edwin J. BISSETT in Boston. The girl was visiting her uncle's in Boston when when he learned of the marriage he gave Bissett in charge. The girl's father is an engine driver on the I.C.R. Mrs. James told a St. John 'Globe' reporter that the girl had gone away for the express purpose of getting married and with the full consent of her parents. The wedding had not taken place home because Mr. James had just recovered from an illness and could not stand the excitement. Mrs. James denies the statement that the marriage is illegal and claims her daughter is as lawfully and legally married as anyone can possibly be. A despatch says Bissett was before the District Court on Friday and bound over to the Superior Court in $2,000.
