On Friday 15th inst. about noon, two boys, age 4 and 10, sons of Daniel GREEN were amusing themselves sailing their tiny boats in the mill pond near the center of Grand Manan Island (Charlotte Co.) when one of them happened to fall in. His companion immediately went to the rescue, but was also precipitated into the water. The mother, hearing the cries of the drowning boys, was drawn to the spot but was unable to render assistance. When at length she brought some men from the mill, the boys had sunk to rise no more. To recover the bodies it was found necessary to draw off the water from the pond. On Sunday they were consigned to the tomb.
