The death is announced of John N. REDFERN, well known mechanic and builder in this city. Mr. Redfern has spent the greater part of his life in St. John. His father was a verse maker and poet whose work was always in request on important local occasions. Mr. Redfern learned the trade of a mason and for a time worked in the South. He then settled in St. John and with Charles F. TILLEY was concerned in the erection of many fine buildings. Of late years his health has been very difficult and his death was not unexpected. He will be buried at Fredericton where he liveed for some time and where his wife belongs.
