Died of small pox in Minnesota, 29th Jan., Henry Norman DOHERTY only s/o Ann W. DOHERTY of Bloomfield (Carleton Co.) N.B., age 19 years 6 mos. 28 days. He left home, Nov. 6, 1881 for the West, thinking he could do better to help his mother in securing a home in her old age. He hired out last falland went up the Miss. River some 200 miles above where it was settled to work in the woods. Afterwards a man came into the camp and was taken sick with small pox and 22 died in one camp. Thus ended the life of one dear boy who was trying to help his widowed mother to a home as all good boys should do. But how soon the prospect was blighted, the sun went down at noon, and the hearts that were nce bouyant with hope are now filled with sorrow and sadness. He leaves a mother and five sisters.
