At 3 o'clock this afternoon, the remains of George L. SMITH were interred in the Rural Cemetery (now known as Fernill Cemetery, Westmorland Road, Saint John) under the banners of Hibernia Lodge, F.& A.M. of which he was a member. The pall bearers were Geo. KILNAP, John JOHNSON, John COCHRANE, James SAUNDERS, W.E. EVERITT, John McKILLOP. Rev. Wm Mitchell conducted the services at the house and Rev. Howard Sprague those at the grave. The funeral was attended by about 250 Freemasons, employees of the Intercolonial railway on which deceased was employed.
