On Thursday afternoon, Edward HALL of Victoria, C.B. met his death in the pit at that place. In the pit there is an incline from which coal is taken from the men called the backbalance. While the man was coming from the cuddy, he was met by one of the cages running back, the car running over him and causing his death immediately. The deceased resided for some time at Sydney Mines.
