Mrs. Advartis SHAW, Knowlesville (Carleton Co.) died Sunday, 22nd Feb., age 77 years. Mrs. Shaw, nee Phoebe McGEE was born in 1814 and was a native of Lower Brighton, where she was united in marriage to her late husband, Advartis SHAW, when 18 years of age. After changing their place of residence several times, they finally settled in Knowlesville about 22 years ago where Mr. Shaw died in Sept. 1886. Their family consisted of 12 sons, 7 of whom are still alive: Ammie SHAW, Stephen SHAW and William SHAW, farmers in Brighton; Elijah SHAW, a storekeeper and Joseph SHAW, boot and shoemaker, both in Bath; and George SHAW and Henry SHAW, farmers, in Knowlesville. Of late years, Mrs. Shaw resided with her sons George and Henry. Mrs. Shaw's remains were consigned to their last resting place in Windsor cemetery on Tuesday 24th. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Home in the school house and the F.C.B. meeting house, Windsor by Rev. Gray. (see eulogy)
