Located 5.45 km ENE of Lower Brighton: Brighton Parish, Carleton County: first called Havelock Settlement: in 1866 Havelock Settlement was a farming community with approximately 7 resident families: included Dow Settlement, which was named for William Dow and Vardus Dow who settled here in 1848: PO Dow Settlement 1902-1916: included the community of Glenravel: PO Glenravel in 1908: renamed East Brighton in 1908: PO East Brighton 1908-1962.
