Located on W side of the Petitcodiac River, 3.93 km SSE of Hillsborough: Hillsborough Parish, Albert County: named for Joel Edgett (1760-1841), a Loyalist from New York: PO 1854-1970 with Ward Edgett as the first postmaster: in 1866 Edgetts Landing was a farming settlement with about 60 resident families including the families of Arthur Edgett, Edward Edgett and Ward Edgett: in 1871 the community and surrounding district had a population of 250: in 1898 Edgetts Landing had 1 post office, 1 store, 1 church and a population of 125.
