: John Jardine and Robert Jardine settled here about 1816: John Jardine and Thomas Jardine, nephews of John Jardine, settled here in 1832 and set up a shipyard: PO 1899-1946 with Alex Jardine as first postmaster: in 1904 Jardineville was a farming and fishing settlement with 1 post office, 1 store and a population of 50.
