Located 4.51 km SE of Scoudouc, on the road to Basse-Aboujagane: Shediac Parish, Westmorland County: settled about 1866 by Marcelin Melanson: named to commemorate the storming of Malakoff in 1855 during the Crimean War: PO 1902-1918 and 1929-1952: in 1898 Malakoff was a farming and lumbering settlement with 1 store and a population of 150.
