Located 5.56 km S of Davis Mill, on the road to Hazeldean: Denmark Parish, Victoria County: founded on 19 June 1872 by six Danish families: included the community of Hellerup, which was named for a Mr. Heller, who encouraged emigration from Denmark: PO Hellerup 1873-1875: also included the communities of Salmonhurst and Petersen: PO Petersen 1904-1921 with Ludwig F. Petersen as first postmaster: PO New Denmark from 1887: in 1904 New Denmark was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 2 stores and a population of 75.
