Located on the Chignecto Bay, 5.71 km SSW of Harvey: Harvey Parish, Albert County: settled in 1798 by settlers from Horton, Nova Scotia: PO 1854-1950: in 1866 New Horton was a farming settlement with about 42 resident families: in 1871 it had a population of 150: in 1904 New Horton had 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 160: included the settlement of Upper New Horton.
