Located on the Nepisiguit Bay, 3.71 km N of Peters River: Beresford Parish and Bathurst Parish, Gloucester County: PO from 1883: in 1898 Beresford was a farming, fishing and lumbering community with 1 post office, 1 sawmill and a population of 1,400: Beresford was incorporated as a village in 1967 and as a town in 1984.
