Located 6.75 km ENE of Hampton and 3.93 km SSW of Bloomfield: Norton Parish, Kings County: named in 1857 by European and North American Railway staff: PO Patticake 1858-1859: PO Passekeag 1861-1869 and 1877-1965: in 1866 Passekeag was a farming community with approximately 40 resident families: in 1871 it was a station on the European and North American Railway and had a population of 150: in 1898 Passekeag was a flag station on the Intercolonial Railway and a settlement with 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 70.
