Located 6.57 km ENE of Poitras Siding and 5.7 km NNW of Saint-André: Saint-André Parish, Madawaska County: David Saint-Amand and Joseph Saint-Amand settled here in the 1890's: PO St Amand 1893-1898: PO Saint-Amand 1898-1930: in 1898 Saint-Amand was a community with 1 post office and a population of 150: included the community of Poitras: PO 1898-1918 with Hugues Poitras as first postmaster: included First Tract Settlement, Dead Brook Settlement and Deadwater Brook Settlement.
