Description
Located on the Heron Channel in the Chaleur Bay, 4.16 km ESE of River Charlo: Colborne Parish, Restigouche County: PO 1866-1969: in 1866 "Black Land" was a farming settlement with about 35 families including 7 McMillan families: in 1871 Blackland was on the Intercolonial Railway line and the community and surrounding district had a population of 250: in 1898 Blackland had 1 post office, 1 shingle mill and a population of 75.
