Located on N side of the Southwest Miramichi River, 7.37 km ENE of Doaktown: Blissfield Parish, Northumberland County: PO Blissfield 1845-1931: in 1866 Blissfield was a farming and lumbering settlement with approximately 96 families, including 6 Arbo families: in 1871 it had a population of 150: in 1898 Blissfield was a flag station on the Canada Eastern Railway and a settlement with 1 post office, 2 stores, 2 churches and a population of 400: included Dunphy, New Salem and Molasses Hill: included Doak's: PO Doak's 1845-c1870: also included Gilks: PO 1891-1970.
