: PO 1852-1873 and 1879-1916: named for New York Governor Cadwallader Colden's residence in Flushing, New York: in 1866 Springhill was a farming community with 72 families: in 1871 it had a population of 250: in 1898 Springhill was a flag station on the Canadian Pacific Railway and a farming settlement with 1 post office, 1 store, 1 hotel, 1 church and a population of about 100: now within the city of Fredericton.
