Located 7.82 km SSE of Dalhousie, on the road to Dalhousie: Colborne Parish, Restigouche County: included the community of Eel River: PO 1847-1887: in 1866 Eel River was a farming community with approximately 125 resident families: in 1871 Eel River was on the Intercolonial Railway line, and the community and surrounding district had a population of 400: PO Upper Charlo 1887-1968: in 1898 Upper Charlo had 1 post office, 1 store, 1 carriage factory, 1 church and a population of 100: became part of the village of Charlo.
