Located 5.56 km N of Sevogle, on the road to Heath Steele: Northesk Parish, Northumberland County: John Way came here from England about 1820: PO 1884-1970 with John Way as first postmaster: in 1898 Wayerton was a farming and lumbering community with 1 post office, 1 hotel, 1 church and a population of 75: formerly called English Settlement.
