Located on N side of the Southwest Miramichi River, 2.25 km NE of Upper Blackville: Blackville Parish, Northumberland County: Joseph Arbeau, Wilson Arbeau, John Arbeau, Kenneth Arbeau, George Arbeau and Thomas Arbeau were early settlers here: included Morehouse: PO 1892-1925 with N. Morehouse as the first postmaster: in 1898 Morehouse was a farming, lumbering and fishing settlement on S side of the Southwest Miramichi River with 1 post office, 1 store, 1 church and a population of 100: became part of Upper Blackville.
