Located 5.38 km SE of Hammond River: Hampton Parish, Kings County: settled by the Acadians about 1767 and later inhabited by Loyalists: PO 1854-1926: in 1866 French Village was a farming settlement with about 25 families: in 1871 the community and surrounding district had a population of 200: in 1904 French Village had 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 65.
