Résumé Parish of Hampton, Kings County, Yeoman. Will dated 27 January 1802, proved 7 April 1802. Executrix authorized to sell such part of my land sufficient to pay the debt due to Isaiah SMITH on a bond dated 17 June 1797 for £200 which bond is mentioned & referred to in a Deed . . . . from said Isaiah SMITH to me of Land he procured of Mrs. Sarah L. MURRAY. Wife Rachel all my household furniture and residue of real estate, she paying the following legacies to my children. Sons Joseph and Monmouth, at age 21, each a pair of oxen, worth £12, and six sheep. Daughters Anna and Charity, at age 18, each a bed, bedding and six sheep. Son James Hart, at age 21, a pair of oxen, worth £12, and six sheep. Daughter Mary, at age 18, a bed, bedding and six sheep. Son Henry Gilbert, at age 21, a pair of oxen, worth £12, and six sheep. "Whereas She the said Rachel appears to be far advanced in a state of Pregnancy, my will is, should She be delivered of a living Child, either before or after my Death, of which She is now pregnant, that Child shall have & receive out of my said Estate, if a Son, at the Age of twenty one years, a Pair of Oxen to be worth Twelve Pounds & six Sheep or, if a Daughter, at the age of Eighteen Years, a Bed & Beding & six Sheep." Wife Rachel FOWLER guardian of the children and sole executrix. Witnesses: Mary UPHAM, Ephraim WHETEN, Joshua UPHAM. Inventory, dated 8 March 1802, taken by Henry FOWLER and Gabriel FOWLER.
