Résumé Parish of Dorchester, Westmorland County, Esquire. Will dated 23 July 1824, proved 18 October 1824. "About to undertake a journey to the United States of America." Wife Caserine(sic) PALMER (as "Catharine PALMER" in Record Book 1, page 315), younger sons Gideon PALMER and Marcus PALMER, during the natural life of my wife, the use of my home farm Lot 16, Lot 14, Lot 13 except that part deeded to my son John PALMER, 10 acres of marsh purchased from Amaser WHELDON, 10 acres of marsh purchased from the administrators of Thomas CARTERS Estate and 15 acres purchased from Martin CHAPMAN, my dwelling, outhouses, mill, livestock and farming implements. At wife's decease real estate to be divided between sons Gideon and Marcus PALMER. Son Gideon my dwelling, mill, out houses and office houses, Lot 16, the three lots of marsh land and Lot 23 purchased from the Administrators of the late Richard WILSON of Sackville situated near Harveys Creek in Sackville. Son Marcus Lot 14, half of Lot 13 and Lot 24 purchased from the late Richard WILSON. Eldest son Philip PALMER one half of "that piece or parcell of Land jointly granted to us, the Said Philip PALMER and my Self from and by the Government of New Brunswick on the Twenty Eighth day of June in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and fourteen, Containing five hundred and Seventy five Acres, with ten per cent allowance, Situate Lying and being on the Easterly line of the Dorchester grants to John SHERWOOD and to John RICHARDSON and their Associates, Within the Township and parish of Sackville." Sons Phillip and John PALMER £5. Daughter Ann FREEMAN £5. Daughter Elizabeth COLE £5. Daughter Sally REID £5. Daughter Catharine DERRY £5. Daughter Mary PALMER 15 shillings. John PALMER of the Parish of Dorchester, John TRUEMAN of the Township of Westmorland, farmers, and Charles D. SMITH of Dorchester Island, Doctor of Medicine, executors. Witnesses: William AYRE, Augustus BAXTER, Felix LEWIS Junr. John HARPER, Ira HICKS and John KEILLOR Junior directed to appraise the estate.
