Résumé Parish of Hillsborough, Westmorland County. Will dated [day blank] September 1824, proved 24 May 1826. Wife Mary STEVES the annuity mentioned in a certain Bond made by my four sons for that purpose, the part of my dwelling house which I occupy and the use of my furniture and personal estate for life. At wife's death, personal estate to be divided among my five children, Hannah [MILTON or MELTON], John STEVES, James STEVES, Joseph STEVES and Martin STEVES. To my daughter Hannah MELTON's children, Mary Ann QUIMBY, Henry BURTON, Caroline BURTON, Martha BURTON, Hannah BURTON, Elizabeth BURTON and Margaret BURTON each £7 two years after my death. Daughter Hannah MELTON the house where she lives and the half acre of land where it stands on the north side of the Baptist Church on the highway in Hillsborough and a further legacy of £50. Son James STEVES the farm where he lives and five acres of my big marsh lot. Son John STEVES the homestead with the land where he now resides, bounded by lands owned by Matthias STEVES and Isaac STEVES, one third of my woodlot, one third part of my big marsh lot and one third part of my lake marsh lot. Son Joseph STEVES the land where his house stands, a third part of my woodlot, a third part of my big marsh lot and a third part of my lake marsh lot adjoining my late brother John's Lake lot. Son Martin STEVES the remaining third of my several lots and my dwelling house at his mother's death. Son Joseph STEVES and nephew David STEVES executors. Witnesses: George STEVES, John STEVES, John STEVES "the 4." Inventory of real estate, dated 7 June 1826, valued at £1,970 by James WALLACE, Henry STEVES [Junr.] and John STEVES.
