Résumé Parish of Hillsborough, Westmorland County. Will dated 4 January 1827, proved 12 April 1827. Son Frederick STEVES land on that side of my land possession adjoining him. Son Elisha STEVES the remainder of my homestead farm at the decease of my widow, but during her life he to furnish keeping for one horse, one cow and two sheep and give her yearly seven bushels of wheat, 100 pounds of beef and pork, 35 pounds of sugar, two pounds of tea, ten pounds of butter and comfortable clothing. Son Elisha the livestock and farming utensils. Wife the household furniture to be distributed among her children as she may think prudent. Elisha to procure for my son David a grant of the meadow lot and give him, when David is of age, "pair of three Year old Stears and two Heifers, one suit of decent Cloths and two suits of Homespun and six Months Schooling." Elisha to procure a grant of land for my son Henry and clear five acres thereon by the time Henry is age 21 and give him the same complement of cattle, clothing and schooling. Sons Samuel and Lewis STEVES each 5 shillings. Daughter Margaret one cow. Daughter Rhoda one cow. Grand-daughter Mary PRINCE 5 shillings. Grandson Dudley MELTON one sheep. Daughter Rachel 5 shillings. Daughter Abigail one cow and, when she is of age or marries, a bed and bedding. Daughter [Errezena] one cow, a bed and bedding when she comes of age or marries. Sons Frederick and Elisha STEVES and friend David STEVES executors. Witnesses: Robert SMITH, Gideon WOODWORTH.
