Résumé Parish of Hillsborough, Westmorland County, Yeoman. Will dated 9 January 1824, proved 23 March 1835. Daughter Jane £18 annually for life. My four other daughters, Rebekah, Margaret, Catherine and Elanor, each £50. Two grandsons John, son of James WALLACE, and John, son of William WALLACE, each £20. My three sons James, William and John, "if son John Should have any Children of his own That would be Natural and lawfull Heirs," the remainder of my estate. If son John should have no children then one third of estate to be divided among John and my grandchildren and two-thirds of estate to James and William. Son James WALLACE sole executor. Witnesses: Matthias STEVES, Martin STEVES, Duncan SHAW. CODICIL dated 10 January 1824 bequeathed to daughter Jane "the kitchen I Built as an adition to my Dweling house together With a Bedroom During her Natural Life." Witnesses: Matthias STEVES, Martin STEVES, Duncan SHAW. Undated petition of James WALLACE stated that John WALLACE died some time in the month of January in 1824. On 14 March 1835 William WALLACE, Ann WALLACE widow of John WALLACE, Rebecca TAYLOR, Charles SMITH and Margaret his wife, Catharine [SINTON], James GELDART and Eleanor his wife, Jane WALLACE and John WALLACE were cited to appear on 23 March to see and hear the true last Will and testament of John WALLACE, late of Coverdale. James CHAPMAN, John GOODALL and Enoch STILES directed to appraise the estate.
