Described as "of London." St. John County records. Merchant. Intestate. On 21 June 1826 the next of kin of John Lauder VENNER, late of the City of London, were cited to appear and show cause why administration of the estate should not be granted to Samuel James VENNER of the Island of Jamaica. Administration granted 14 August 1826 to John V. THURGAR, merchant. Fellow bondsmen William BLACK, merchant, and Thomas PADDOCK, doctor of medicine, all of the City of Saint John. Samuel James VENNER, at present of Saint John but of the Island of Jamaica, merchant, applied for administration of his brother's estate, the application opposed by Zalmon WHEELER, both parties relinquished in favour of John V. THURGAR. Assets of the estate consisted entirely of book debts amounting to £11,956, of which those considered bad amounted to £8,185.
