Located 3.71 km S of Lewis Mountain, on the road to River Glade: Salisbury Parish, Westmorland County: Daniel Wheaton (1783-1862) settled here about 1803: PO 1865-1929: in 1866 Wheaton Settlement was a farming community with approximately 32 resident families, including the families of Alexander Wheaton, Daniel Wheaton, Henry Wheaton, John Wheaton, John E. Wheaton, Martin Wheaton, Thomas Wheaton and William Wheaton: in 1871 it had a population of 200: in 1898 Wheaton Settlement had 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 200.
