Island located 1.85 km S of Douglas: Kingsclear Parish, York County: named for Lieutenant James Eccles, a grantee in 1784: also known as Cleoncourt for René Damours (d’Amours) De Clignancourt (1660-C1710), who received a grant of land in Acadia extending along both banks of the St. John River from Medoctec (Meductic) to Grand Falls, a distance of over 144 km.
