Welcome to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick’s online search portal.

For many years, PANB has offered digital access to records such as vital statistics, indexes to land records and funeral home records, and numerous other research and educational tools. In addition, tools such as the GWP, the Cemeteries Database, and Fort Havoc are the result of collaborative efforts with groups and individuals who wanted to share the fruits of their research for the benefit of other archival researchers.

The Online Search Portal will take access to PANB’s holdings one step further. This feature will enable members of the public to search PANB’s holdings using a tool very similar to what the archivists who acquire, organize, and arrange access to the records use “behind the scenes” at their desks. Initially, photograph collections that have been fully digitized and described in both official languages will be available. Over time, “finding aids,” which are descriptions and lists of archival records in all formats, will be added. The descriptions will help researchers identify records that interest them – they can get started online before coming to the Archives or working with an archivist to arrange access.

PANB is pleased to provide this new feature and welcomes your feedback.
