SCOTT, WALTER JOHN CROSBY, pharmacist; b. Chatham, 27 Feb 1888, s/o William Scott and Jennie Crosby; unmarried; d. Chatham, 2 Dec 1950.
Walter J. C. Scott received his secondary education at the Chatham Grammar School and became a registered pharmacist. He established Scott's Drug Store in Loggieville around 1910. In 1939, he bought "Medical Hall" on Water Street in Chatham from the heirs of J. D. B. Fraser Mackenzie and also named it Scott's Drug Store. He was the proprietor of both stores for the remainder of his life. After his death, Melvin Dickson, who had worked in the store at Loggieville for about twenty-five years, took over the business.
Scott's will contained a bequest for the restoration and maintenance of St Andrew's Cemetery in Chatham.
