JOHNSTONE, JAMES B., doctor and school inspector; b. Miramichi, c1819, s/o David Johnstone and h/w Janet; brother of Thomas George Johnstone; m. 1843, Arminta Trenholm, of Point de Bute, Westmorland Co., N.B.; d. Chatham, 30 Nov 1862.
James B. Johnstone was a doctor at Point de Bute at the time of his marriage in 1843, and he continued to reside there until he opened a practice in Chatham in January 1852. Between 1856 and 1858 he was also the school inspector for Northumberland County. He was forty-three years of age at the time of his death. He and his wife, Arminta Trenholm, had five children.
