Abstract Parish of Gagetown, Queens County, Esquire. Will dated 29 October 1795, proved 5 September 1797. Proved and registered in Sunbury County 3 October 1797, Record Book A, pages 31-40. Wife Mary £150 which may be due to me at the time of my decease, use of half the dwelling for life, half the household furniture, three cows, twenty sheep and half the swine, over and above what she may be pleased to take as her right of Dower. Eldest son Thomas GILBERT of Burton, Sunbury County, Esquire, all that Island called Maugers Island laying in the River Saint John on which he now Dwells, together with four of the uppermost of the nine lots I purchased of John Buttler DIGHT Esq. and the lands and buildings which I have either by grant or purchase (only excepting the Lands and buildings Mortgaged to me by Robert RAY of Digby) which I have and hold in the Province of Nova Scotia. Second son Peres GILBERT of Gagetown in Queens County all Grimross Island with all the lands on Grimross Neck purchased of Thomas HORSFIELD and land purchased of William HAZEN Esq., and my dwelling at my wife's death. Third son Bradford GILBERT Esquire, City of Saint John, land purchased of Samuel DICKENSON Esq., land purchased of John McALPEN and five of the lowermost of the nine lots purchased of John Buttler DIGHT Esq. in the Township of Sheffield. The heirs of my eldest daughter Molley, lately the wife of Thomas [HATHEWAY] but now deceased, £100. Second daughter Bethsheba, wife of Samuel CRANE, £5. Third daughter Hannah, wife of Ephriam WINSLOW, £5. Fourth and youngest daughter Deborah GILBERT the bond and mortgage on the estate of Robert RAY of Digby, £200 and half my movables equally with her mother. Residue of estate to my three sons. Three sons, Thomas, Peres and Bradford GILBERT, joint executors. Witnesses: Richard CLARKE, Thomas HARTT, Samuel R. CLARKE.
