City of Saint John, St. John County. Will dated 16 July 1795, recorded 23 April 1796, proved 22 April 1796. Wife Elizabeth a Negro woman called Phillis, one chest of drawers, a large looking glass, all the pictures in my house and one-half the rents of my real and personal estate in the City of Saint John while widow. After her death or marriage, entire estate to be sold. Daughter Catherine one-half of the rents while unmarried. At her marriage, that one-half to be divided between my children which have not been provided for. Oldest daughter Susannah BURGAW, Jemimah MOORE, Lydia DAWSON, Sarah ROACH, Catherine HALLETT, Samuel HALLETT Junr., Elizabeth MOORE and Jane WHITLOCK entire estate after marriage or decease of wife. Sons Daniel and Joseph already provided for and are to have no more of my estate. Sons Daniel and Samuel HALLETT Junr. executors. Witnesses: John WARD, Ebenezer PUTNAM, John SINNOT.
