On 10 July 1818 the next of kin of the deceased were cited to appear and show cause why administration of the estate should not be granted to James Thorpe HANFORD, merchant, of Saint John. Administration granted 24 December 1818 to William PAGAN Esq., merchant, of Saint John, the widow Elizabeth HENDERSON of Digby, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, having renounced on 20 July 1818 in his favour. Fellow bondsmen Andrew S. RITCHIE and George PAGAN, merchants, both of Saint John. Further administration granted 2 August 1819 to Andrew S. RITCHIE, merchant, (one of the Administrators of William PAGAN Esquire, deceased, the former Administrator to the said Estate) and Robert PARKER Junr. Esq., both of Saint John
