Abstract City of Saint John, St. John County, Merchant. Will dated 4 April 1833, proved 4 June 1833. All personal property to executors in trust, the interest and profits to be paid to son Willet CARPENTER Junior and his wife Catharine during his life for their maintenance and the maintenance and education of their children. When youngest grandson reaches age 21, and after the death of my son Willet CARPENTER Junior, estate to be divided. My grandson Robert James CARPENTER to receive Lot 5 on Brussels Street and Lot 23 on Wellington Street. Grandson William CARPENTER Lots 14 and 24, adjoining the lots willed to Robert James CARPENTER, and £200. Residue to be divided among my grandchildren, each grandson to receive two shares and each grand daughter one share. Son Wilett CARPENTER Junior and friends Peter REID, merchant, and John GOLDING, grocer, executors. Witnesses: Charles W. TISDALE, John L. MILLER, John RUSSELL. Inventory, dated 5 June 1833, valued at £2,615 by Charles W. TISDALE.
