Abstract City of Saint John, St. John County, Farmer. Intestate. Administration granted 19 January 1831 to George Henry HAZEN Esq., William BARBARIE of [Sussex] Vale, Kings County, near kin to the deceased, and the widow Mary Ann COUGLE of the City of Saint John. Fellow bondsmen Ralph M. JARVIS Esq and Charles DRURY Junr. Esq. of the City of Saint John. A petition of Peter J. COUGLE dated 9 December 1850, praying a final accounting and distribution, stated that Joseph COUGLE left four sons, [Gilespie] COUGLE, Joseph COUGLE, John Vail COUGLE and George Hazen COUGLE, and six daughters, Ann Frances, married to Hon. George H. HAZEN and afterward to Edward DOLBY, Harriett, married to Elias SNIDER, Caroline, married to Hugh MACKAY, Sarah, married to Edwin HAZEN, Charlotte, unmarried, and Mary Eliza, married to petitioner; that since the death of Joseph COUGLE, son Joseph COUGLE died leaving no issue; Caroline MACKAY died leaving three children, Mary Ellen, John and Caroline Jane; that the widow Mary Ann COUGLE since married Jacob LEEK and is the surviving administrator, Hon. G. H. HAZEN having died and William BARBARIE having left the country 12 years ago and never since having been heard from in any way.
