Abstract "Township of Monckton," Westmorland County. Will dated 5 October 1820, proved 11 October 1820. Son Henry STEVES land in Hillsborough. Lands in the Township of Sussex known by the name of the CARLILE Farm to be sold; £100 from the proceeds to son Jacob STEVES and the remainder to son Christian STEVES Junr. Son Job STEVES land in the township of Monkton that I live on and my farming utensils. Possession of my house is vested in my wife Rosanna during her life and she to have a comfortable living, necessary attendance in health and in sickness and a young horse. Daughters Rachel COLPITTS, Mary JAQUES and Susanna TRITES each £100. Daughter Ann CARLILE £160 to be paid to her husband by giving up to him his note for that sum. Daughter Elizabeth COLPITTS £50. Grand-daughter Rosanna STILES £20. To the grave yard in Salisbury at the Baptist Meeting House £10 for improvements. Wife Rosanna all my household furniture to be disposed of as she may see fit to her daughters. Any residue of estate to daughters Rachel COLPITTS, Mary JAQUES and Susanna TRITES. Son Henry STEVES and son-in-law John JAQUES executors. Witnesses: R. SCOTT Junr., John TRITES, Jacob TRITES.
