City of Saint John, St. John County, Esquire. "Now resident in Deerfield in the County of Hampstead and Commonwealth of Massachusetts." Will dated 5 June 1792, apparently proved in Massachusetts. Administration of estate in New Brunswick granted 3 October 1793 to Jonathan BLISS as lawful Attorney of John WILLIAMS and Seth CATLIN, Executors. Sister Abigail WILLIAMS and sister Lydia JAMES and to each of their respective children, viz. Ebenezer Hinsdale ("HINSDALE" possibly surname), Sarah Jones ("JONES" possibly surname), Thomas, Elijah, Abigail Bliss Eleazar ("Abigail BLISS" and "Eleazar" ?), Lydia and [blank] Wright ("WRIGHT" possibly surname) and Sophia JONES, Abigail BLAKE and Henry WILLIAMS a Ring of the value of twenty eight shillings. Children of my late sister Eunice FELTON, viz. Hannah, William, Eunice, Elijah and Charles, all my lands in Winhall in the State of Vermont, my executors to hold the land until the children come of age. Brother John WILLIAMS all such real estate as belongs to me by virtue of my being Heir to my late Hon. father Elijah WILLIAMS. Residue of estate, whether in the province of New Brunswick, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State of New Hampshire or State of Vermont or elsewhere to my two nephews Richard WILLIAMS and John WILLIAMS, sons of my brother John WILLIAMS. Brother John WILLIAMS to manage the same until nephews attain age 21. Brother John WILLIAMS and Seth CATLIN Esq., both of Deerfield, [executors]. Witnesses: Samuel BARNARD, [Will] [Stod.] WILLIAMS, Eben BARNARD Junr. Inventory at Saint John, dated 7 May 1794, by George YOUNGHUSBAND and James HAYT valued at £13 covered effects of the deceased received from Capt. Thomas ELMES 3 June 1793. A further inventory, by the Administrator, Jonathan BLISS, of amounts owing the estate amounted to £250. The annotated listing indicated that Samuel and Richard LYDECKER, Jesse BARLOW, Samuel MYERS, Joseph BEEDLE, William CHACE, Israel WOOD and Francis NOBLE had left the Country; William GRAVES, Ross CURRIE and C. ROBINSON were deceased; and William REYNOLDS was not to be found and probably dead.
