Amherst, N.S., Nov. 3 - Albert D. CHAPMAN, for 30 years tide waiter of the customs dept. here, dropped dead from heart disease Saturday at noon at the I.C.R. freight house. He was engaged in his duties as usual and although for several days had complained of a pain in the region of the heart, yet he appeared to be in good health. He had just left the freight house when the death summons came. Now one saw him fall but he was discovered about a minute later by Station Master Fraser. He was then insensible. Medical aid was immediately procured and he was removed home but death came in the meantime. The deceased was 67 years of age and a s/o Thomas CHAPMAN and Rebecca CHAPMAN. For the last 20 years he has been collector of the city rates for this district and during the time Sheriff Chandler held office, was deputy sheriff. There survives him his wife, nee Catherine WEST d/o Gideon WEST, now of Honolulu and the children are Arthur CHAPMAN, Ethel CHAPMAN (now Mrs. William MOORE) and Myra CHAPMAN. He was a brother of Joshua CHAPMAN, Rufus CHAPMAN and Lewis CHAPMAN here; Mrs. WELLS of the United States and Miss Minnie CHAPMAN of Sackville (West. Co.)
