William Henry ROGERS, 72 years old, died at his residence Amherst, N.S. Thursday morn. and was buried Saturday. He had been a warm Confederationist and had held several importatnt government offices in the fisheries dept. He was the inventor of the Rogers Improved Fishway. Deceased leaves a large family consisting of Eva BLACK w/o Rev. S. McCully BLACK, editor of the 'Messenger & Visitor', St. John; Mary PHILLIPS w/o Charles A. PHILLIPS, Fall River, Mass.; Nellie MAIN w/o C.W. MAIN; H. Whycoff ROGERS and S. Sherman ROGERS of Amherst; W. Hubert ROGERS of Boston; Elizabeth EATON w/o Dr. H.E. EATON, Toronto; Emma STEELE widow of Sydney STEELE; Florence ROGERS w/o Fred L. ROGERS, Alberton, P.E.I. and Alfred P. ROGERS who is studying dentistry at Toronto.
