A lad named John WEIR s/o Jonathan WEIR, Esq., Moncton (West. Co.) on Christmas Day, 1871 was accidentally shot in the forehead by a ball from a pistol in the hands of a person named LEEMAN. The latter lost two of his fingers and the former had a very narrow escape, the ball grazing the upper part of his head.
