Wm COOPER of King Street received a telegram last eve. announcing the death of his father, Samuel COOPER, sr., which occurred at Ionia, Michigan. He resided here for a number of years when the firm of Cooper Brothers did business on King Street. The deceased was in his 93rd year. He came to this province from Somersetshire, England in 1818 and afterwards bought a farm in Kingsley, which he sold to Capt. WRIGHT, then removing to the city, when his sons carried on business. He went from here to Ontario ans finally to Ionia, Michigan where of late he has resided with his son, Samuel Cooper. Deceased was four times married and outlived all his wives. His surviving children by his first marriage are Mrs. John BECK, Vancouver, B.C., Mrs. James TOLE, Mrs. MULLIN, John COOPER and Samuel COOPER of Michigan and William COOPER of this city.
