The death is announced at the age of 85 of Mrs. WHITESIDE, widow of Henry WHITESIDE, Esq., for over fifty years a customs officer. The deceased lady was a d/o Joseph BARLOW who built the first house at Reed's Point. She was born here and was one of a family of ten children. She was for many years a leader in the Centenary Church and prominent in all Christian and charitable work. After the big fire, Mr. and Mrs. Whiteside moved to Sussex where Mr. Whiteside died about 1880. Mrs. Whiteside has since lived with her son Henry. She leaves four sons: Arthur WHITESIDE, a member of the Manitoba Methodist conference; Edward WHITESIDE, an Evangelist at Pittsburg, Pa. and at present in charge of the Bethany mission at that place; Charles WHITESIDE with the C.P.R. office at Montreal and Henry who resides in Sussex.
