During a thunder storm which passed over the parish of Elgin (Albert Co.) on Wednesday eve. of last week, the house in which Andrew LITTLE of Mechanic Settlement lived was burned. It is generally supposed that the electric current (lightning) entered the building and in its descent fired the house and killed the inmates. George LITTLE, Andrew's father, who lived quite near was the first to see the house on fire. The remains of the unfortunates were found in the cellar. Mrs. Little was burned almost to a crisp. Mr. Little's limbs were badly burned but his body was almost intact. George Little had left Andrew's house only a short time before the accident. When he left, Mrs. Little, who had been sick for the past few days, was lying on the bed and her husband was sitting on the bed beside her. In all probability they were killed in this position. Mrs. Little was the oldest d/o Jehiel BISHOP of Elgin Corner and had only been married a few months.
