The barque "Gracia" of Quebec, Johnson, from Gloucester, for Darien (ballast) put into Cardiff roads for shelter and has foundered; all hands lost with the exception of one seaman, who was picked up in a deplorable state and landed there with his left arm and several ribs broken. The man saved from the "Gracia" is named Marcius COOK, age 20, native of Boston, U.S. The crew lost were Alfred JOHNSON, master, aged 40, belonging to Nova Scotia; Alfred FAIRBROTHER, mate, of Bristol; a Prussian second mate; Frederick SMY of London, G.B.; Albert SCELGROVE, A.B., of U.S.; John LARSEBN, A.B., of Finland; Carl JOHNSON, A.B. of Finland; Olsen MATTHEWSON, A.B. of Finland; a Norweigan and three other names not ascertained.
